Scripture Text:
Paul writes to Timothy, "Do not neglect your gift, which was given
you through a prophetic message when the body of elders laid their hands on you."
(1 Timothy 4:14).
Thought:
Have you ever thought of yourself as "gifted"?
We usually
reserve this wording for people who are extremely talented in some way, but the
Bible tells us that we all have gifts. Paul writes to his beloved Timothy,
encouraging him not to neglect the gift that was bestowed upon him. What gift has
been bestowed upon you? Are you good with children? Do you have the gift of
music? Are you talented in a technical field? Someway, somehow, you do have a
gift. Find it, acknowledge it... and use it!
Prayer:
Loving Father, I realize that you have given exceedingly more than I can imagine.
I know that you have given me abilities that I don't even recognize, yet.
Please help me to see these abilities and recognize how they can be used for your glory.
Help lead me to doing the things that you want me to do. Allow me to use my
abilities to strengthen your kingdom. In the name of Jesus Christ, my Savior and
King, I pray. Amen.
