Scripture Text:
"But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy,
made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions..."
(Ephesians 2:4-5)
Thought:
One of the most frustrating parts of being human is the constant battle with
sin, at least for me. Satan just seems to know how what "buttons to
push" in providing ways to tempt me. As long as we allow Satan to control our
lives, we are dead in sin. But, we have a way out - Christ died for us.
Because of the love of God and his unimaginable grace, he has provided us with
life. And all we have to do is accept it - through a faithful life to Him!
Don't let Satan rule your life. Leave the tombs of a sinful life and cling to the
life-giving salvation provided through Christ.
Prayer:
Gracious Father. I recognize that as long as I live in this world I will have
to battle sin. Help me to win that battle, oh Lord. Give me the strength, the
wisdom and the confidence to stand on your side. Thank you for your Son, who gives
us life. We recognize his life-saving sacrifice on the cross. Help us to
remember what that was for. Thank you for the gift of grace, which comes freely to
us. Help us to recognize and accept that grace. In Jesus' name, Amen.
