He Didn’t Come Down!
Often
I stop to think just where I’d be
Had Jesus come down from that cruel old tree.
There’d be no hope for man, no peace could be found.
But praise God—I’m glad He didn’t come down—
He
didn’t come down.
Oh! No! He didn’t come down.
Ten thousand angels were kept all around.
He could have told them to set Him free
But He stayed on the cross for you and me.
Picture
his mother there with tears in her eyes
While some mocked Him, some spurned Him as they pierced His side.
They yelled, “If thou be the King then come to the ground.”
But He cried, “Forgive them,” and he didn’t come!
He didn’t come down.
Oh!
No! He didn’t come down.
Ten thousand angels were kept all around.
He could have told them to set Him free,
But he stayed on the cross for you and me.
Thank
you, Jesus.
I love you.
