Scripture Text:
"Your justice is as deep as the great ocean."
(Psalm 36:6b)
Thought:
Justice... it's a word that means a lot to those of us in
the United States. We like to believe that we live in a fair and
just land. And, when we feel that justice is not being carried out,
we fight back. Justice is one of our most precious commodities as a
nation.
The fact is, however, that our justice does not hold a
candle to God's. He is more fair than we can ever imagine.
When you consider how we let Him down, yet he still loves and forgives us,
you recognize how just he is.
Prayer:
Great and wonderful God, we thank you for the gift of
forgiveness. We realize that often fall short of your desires and
expectations. Yet, you forgive us anyway. We cannot begin to
understand how good, fair and just you are in how you have forgiven
us. Help us to recognize that more and more each day, so that our
love for you will grow. We thank you for your justice. In
Christ's name, Amen.
