Leadership Philosophy
The
family of believers at Middletown believes that the Biblical model for the
local church is not the hierarchical structure that is common in most
businesses and churches today. We believe that each member is
himself or herself a minister and is called to perform some function in
the Lord's church. Paul tells us that the church is a body, and each
one of us is a part of that body, thus serving a particular purpose.
Some people are called to
be leaders, and perhaps they serve as elders or shepherds of the
congregation. Others lead in various ways. Below are the names
of our deacon, and our other ministry leaders. Each
deacon is assigned at least one ministry to oversee. Many other
ministries are led by those who are not deacons. They are
identified below as well.
